This research is a quantitative research. The variable in this study is storytelling variables (as independent variables) and reading interest (as dependent variables). The methods of data collection in this research using questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. And the data analysis using a simple linier regression were processed using SPSS version 16.0 for windows. The results showed that storytelling has a positive and significant effect of reading interest in SDIT Luaqman Al Hakim Elementary School of Yogyakarta Students. These results indicated the correlation value optained for 0,433 with significant 0,000 0,05 (5 %). Storytelling that done by the students in the first, second, and third graders in SDIT Luqman Al Hakim Yogyakarta were good classified in fact with grand mean 3,28 and the students interest condition for the first, second, and third graders in SDIT Luqman Al Hakim Yogyakarta are classified in high category which showed the count of the result grand mean is 3,13. On the test result of simple linear regression coeffesient of the influence of storytelling for the first, second, and third graders in SDIT Luqman al Hakim Yogyakarta, with linier regression coefficients can be predicted that Y = 7,570 + 0,531 X with Y (reading interest) and X (storytelling). Constant of 7,570 means that if there is no increase in the storytelling so the reading interest is 7,570, while the regression coefficient of 7,570 means that each increase of appropriate storytelling (sign +), it will increase reading interest about 0,532. On the coefficient of determination (R square) obtained is 0,196 means that the storytelling variable can explain the storytelling less reading interest about 19,6 %. This may imply that the 80,4 % reading interest is influenced by the other factors except storytelling and it was not writen. The authors give advice that school should provide budget funds to increase the activity of storytelling to be doneroutinely date: 2016-03-28 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/21039/2/12140083_BAB-I_IV-atau-V_DAFTAR-PUSTAKA.pdf format: text language: en identifier: https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/21039/1/12140083_BAB-II_sampai_SEBELUM-BAB-TERAKHIR.pdf identifier: MARDAYATI, NIM. 12140083 (2016) PENGARUH STORYTELLING TERHADAP MINAT BACA ANAK DI SDIT LUQMAN AL-HAKIM YOGYAKARTA.
