This\r\nresearch aims to analyze how and why the implicatures are used by Patrick\r\nin the movie. The researcher uses the descriptive qualitative method. This\r\nresearch is analyzed descriptively based on related theory of Grice’s\r\nconventional and conversational implicature. The researcher explains the\r\ndata by showing the textual meaning, the maxims, the context, and the\r\nimplicature of the utterances. The conclusion of this research is drawn into\r\ntwo points. First, Patrick uses the implicatures in breaching the several\r\nmaxims. He breaches the quality maxim to imply that SB has to remember\r\nwhere the Krusty Krab is by himself. He breaches the quantity and relation\r\nmaxim to imply that he does not know what the year exactly. He also\r\nbreaches three maxims of quality, quantity, and relation to imply that he\r\ndoes not want to join others to go to the shore. Second, Patrick has some\r\nintentions in making implicature. The reason of why Patrick uses\r\nimplicature is not only he wants to escape from the fight, but also he does\r\nnot want to face Plankton more in the middle of food fight. Further, he\r\nalso does not want to be in trouble in finding a secret formula of Krabby\r\nPatty. Genre film ini adalah komedi anak-anak.\r\nPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana dan mengapa\r\nimplikatur digunakan oleh Patrick dalam film. Peneliti menggunakan\r\nmetode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif\r\nberdasarkan teori Grice terkait implikatur konvensional dan percakapan.\r\nPeneliti menjelaskan data dengan menunjukkan makna tekstual, maksim,\r\nkonteks, dan implikatur dari ucapan-ucapan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian\r\nini ditarik ke dua poin. Pertama, Patrick menggunakan implikatur dalam\r\nmelanggar beberapa prinsip-prinsip. Dia melanggar maksim kualitas untuk\r\nmenyiratkan bahwa SB harus ingat di mana Krusty Krab dengan dirinya\r\nsendiri. Dia melanggar maksim kuantitas dan hubungan untuk\r\nmenyiratkan bahwa dia tidak tahu tahun apa persisnya.
