The variable in this study is independent variable in the form of learning models is hands-on activities and the dependent variable is cognitive achievement of students. The population in this research is XI MIPA SMAN 1 Kasihan. To take the sample, this research using simple random sampling, XI MIPA 5 as the control class and XI MIPA 6 as an experimental class. The instrument of collecting data is the cognitive achievement of students pretest-posttest question. Data analysis using parametric statistical independent t test and normalize the gain (N-gain). The results showed that the learning models of hands-on activities is effective to improve learning achievement of students in the harmonics oscilators with the differences in pretest and posttest scores of experimental class with Ngain 0.797 in the high category. Improving learning the cognitive achievement of students by using learning models of hands-on activities with the sig. 2-tailed = 0,000 α then it means that there are differences in the average score of posttest experimental class and control class, and the value of N-gain experimental class 0.797 in the high category is greater than the N-gain control classes 0.473 in the average category its means that learning of the experimental class more effective to improve the learning achievement of students. %Z Norma Sidik Risdianto, M.Sc.
