description: This study aims to determine the leadership style of head librarian, values  developed in the organizational culture, and efforts that are made by chief  librarian in the development of organizational culture at the Library of the Faculty  of Engineering, University of Gadjah Mada. This research is qualitative. Methods  of data collection using passive participant observation, semistructured interviews  and documentation. Analysis of the data in this study uses a model of Miles and  Huberman of data reduction, data presentation and verification. In this study, the  validity of test data uses a triangulation method, the extension of observation, and  memberchek. From the analysis conducted, it can be known that the style of  leadership of the libraries in the development of organizational culture at the  Library of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada is: (1) Leadership  style that is used is a mixture between leadership style democratic and  participative with the characteristics of a plan in every activity, can cooperate in  delegating authority, respect the opinion of subordinates, and provide motivation.  (2) Values Organizational Culture include discipline, creativity, and  professionalism. (3) Efforts Development Organizational Culture include regular  briefings, modelings, and development of human resources. (4) Obstacles  encountered in the development of organizational culture includes internal factors,  that is psychological factors and external factors which are the skills of librarians.
