The lyrics represent the social life of workers. It shows the depression of the workers because of alienation. This encourages the researcher to discuss the issue of alienation. Thus, the objectives of research are to know the alienation happened in the lyrics and the struggle to free from alienation. In conducting the research, the writer uses the alienation theory proposed by Karl Marx. The writer uses the descriptive qualitative method. The result of this study shows that the four types of alienation occur in the Jesus of Suburbia lyrics. The first is alienation from the product. It is found as in the line the motto was just a lie. The second is alienation from the process of production. It can be seen in the line get my television fixed//sitting on my crucifix. The third is alienation from the essential species-being. It is as in the line to alcohol and cigarette. The fourth is alienation from human beings. It can be seen as in the line from the bible of none of the above.
