%X Company was founded with the goal for increasing the firm value so as to provide prosperity for owners or shareholders. Good Corporate Governance and profitability is an effort to enhance the value. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of good corporate governance to the firm value with the profitability as an example variable in the company.
The research sample is a basic industry companies and chemical are registered in Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) with the observation period of 2011-2015. The sampling using purposive sampling method and obtained a sample of 10 companies. Good Corporate Governance is measured with managerial ownership, institutional ownership, and the audit committee, profitability measured by Return On Assets (ROA) and the value of the company measured by Tobin’s Q (Q).
The results of this research showed that institutional ownership and profitability have significant positive effect on firm value, managerial ownership and audit committees influence on the value of the company. The results of this study also showed that profitability can not mediate the effect of good corporate governance on firm value.
