abstract: Taboo is a word that used by someone to convey emotions to the hearer. Some
of people consider taboo is a forbidden word to say to anyone, because it is not polite.
Actually, we often hear those words such as goddamn, shit, fuck you, but the kind of
taboo words have different formed and meaning. The meaning of taboo words itself
depend on the context and situation. If those words are added with morpheme or the
other words, it can create a new meaning. For example, you are asshole. The word
asshole is from ass and hole. To create a new meaning in morphology is one of word
formation process that is called compound. This research has two questions. First, what
are the types of compounds that appear in Unstoppable movie’s script and second what
are the types of taboo words that used by the character in Unstoppable movie’s script.
This research uses two theories, they are, compound and taboo theory, it consist of the
types of compound by Nigel Fabb and taboo theory by Ronald Wardaugh. This research
uses descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the data and the documentation
technique for collecting the references and the sources. Based on the analysis, the
researcher finds thirteen excocentric compounds, two endocentrics, and one coordinate
compound. Further, there are three types of taboo, those are consist of 12 taboo of
religion, six taboo of human’s body, one taboo of body funtion and five taboo of politic.
