        abstract = {This research have puspose to known about the level effectivity of information
retrieval in SMAN 1 Yogyakarta Library and SMAN 1 Wonosari Library and
then compare the level effectivity of information retrieval in SMAN 1 Yogyakarta
Library and SMAN 1 Wonosari Library. In this research, SMAN 1 Yogyakarta
Library as library which hold user education and SMAN 1 Wonosari Library as
library which not hold user ueducation. This research use descriptive quantitative
approach. Population of this research focused to user class XI in SMAN 1
Yogyakarta and SMAN 1 Wonosari with total population are 504 student and
have total sample 84 student. Technic sampling use insidental sampling . The
main data is collected use questioner and the other data collect with
documentation, interview and observation. Validity and realiability test using
correlation Poduct Moment and Alpha Cronbach. Data analysis using independent
sample t test. The result of the research there are difference effectivity of
information retrieval between library which holding and non holding user
education, study in SMAN 1 Yogyakarta Library and SMAN 1 Wonosari Library
shown by tcount as big as 2,022. The value of tcount (2,022)  ttabel (2,000) with
siginificance as big as 0,046. In this research, researcher suggest to increas user
education activity for SMAN 1 Yogyakarta Library and can be held user
education as one of annual library activity in SMAN 1 Wonosari Library.}
