%T KONSEP POLIGAMI MENURUT MUHAMMAD SYAHRUR
%X This article represents a study of Muhammad Syahrur's thought regarding the polygamy. Syahrur combines scientific and linguistic approaches. He concludes that polygamy informed in QS al,Nisa' (4): 3 concerns on mothering orphans. So polygamy is allowed as long as there are orphans
that are needed to be protected and raised up. Employing the limit theory, he approaches the number of 4 in the verse as a maximum limit of getting marriage with widows having orphans, including the first marriage as the least number. This verse states two main conditions of getting marriage
for the second, third, or fourth. They are getting marriage with widows having orphans and readiness to be just among the wives and their orphans.
