%X Starting a new life inan unknown environment often requires adjustment. For individuals with disabilities, the process of adjustment is much more challenging due to factors such as physical or social inaccessibility. This research seeks a comprehensive understanding of the apprentice program for young persons with disabilities in the Balai Rehabilitasi Terpadu Penyandang Disabilitas, Yogyakarta (Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Person With Disabilities Yogyakarta, henceforth called BRTPD).This research is particularly interested in the dynamic of the adjustment process of the participants during the program. The apprenticeship is comprised of a 25 day rehabilitation program in whichthe participants undergoa series of adjustments both physically and socially. In this short period of time they spend intense periods of time with new friends while they learn and follow the regulations and expectations of the program.  This is a qualitative research project which involvesthree participants; one with visual impairment, one with hearing impairment, and one participant with a physical impairment. Data collection is done through in depth interviews, observation and documentation. Triangulation of sources and methods are used to establish the validity and reliability of the data.
