"This research aims to find out the kinds of activities undertaken by the librarian\r\nbefore presenting fairy tales to students and how the implementation of the\r\nstorytelling activity at the Library of Masjid Syuhada’ Elementary School\r\nYogyakarta by analyzing what was found in the field and compare it with the\r\nexisting theories. This study is a qualitative research study which is take place in\r\nMasjid Syuhada’ Elementary School Yogyakarta The data collection is done by\r\nusing the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of data\r\nusing qualitative descriptive analysis begins with data collection, data reduction,\r\ndata display, and celaboration. The test validity of the data using triangulation\r\ntechniques and member-check. Based on the interview and research that has been\r\ndone, it can be concluded that the storytelling activities require some activities\r\nperformed by librarians before presenting fairy tales, which is including special\r\npreparation and special general preparation. The activities are grouping fairy tales\r\nand fables election. For the general preparation 1) Confirmation to the classroom\r\nteacher for the approval of the storytelling activity, 2) Determine the theme of a\r\nstory based on the class to be taught storytelling, 4) Choose books / stories for\r\nstorytelling, 4) Determine the tools that will be used for storytelling, 5). Determine\r\nthe technical that will be used of the storytelling. There are seven stages in the\r\nimplementation of the fairy tales performed by librarians: 1). Conditioning of the\r\nchildren, 2). Initial opening, 3). The introduction of the characters, 4). The Delivery\r\nof a fairy tale and the interaction, 6). Quizzes, and 7). Closing. The author's advice\r\nto the librarian of Tunas Aulia In determining the criteria for selecting a fairy tale,\r\nwe should consider other parties like classroom teacher and school student section\r\nconsideration. Beside that, the librarians should focus on one technique which is\r\nused to maximize the supporting factors for storytelling and fables such as attitude,\r\nappearance and distance between storyteller with students."^^ .
