The results showed a major contribution to the religious character of the students while contributing less media. The family provides the largest contribution to the character of students in Yogyakarta. There is a significant relationship between parental job with the character of student performance in Yogyakarta. As for the state of the house there is no relationship. Origin student no significant relationship. The results of the analysis of data did not specify any kind of work of parents. The research concludes that the family is the strategic environment in shaping the character of the students and suppress the appearance of the character.
