[TELAAH BUDAYA LOKAL] creator: Santosa, Sedya subject: Pendidikan Karakter description: Considering the importance of local culture role in shaping citizens’ personality and character, this study presents the importance of reactualizing Moral Values in Macapat Song in Javanese Culture and Literature as the reinforcement of character education in Curriculum of 2013. Until nowadays, Macapat Song is still very popular in Javanese society culture, even in formal institutions such as public or islamic schools start from Primary to Senior High School. This research uses description and comparison method. Steps taken in this research are as follows: Describing the learning content of Macapat Song by using the verses concrning Moral learnings. Macapat Song that has been described is translated into Indonesian Language. Then the parts concerning moral learning are analized. Finally, the researcher draws a conclusion about the content of Macapat song learning which has relationship with Moral learning as the enforcement of Character Education according to the research and objective of the research. The research result indicates that moral values of Javanese literature are still relevant with present society life. Thereofore it can be a paragon and souce of moral values for Indonesian nation. In this global era, there is a tendency that the society accepts external culture directly. It is not always good and useful. Therefore, it can be anticipated by maintaining local culture wisdom values. Moral values consisting in Javanese Literature is Adiluhung heritage trusted by the society since the old times that can be used as the enforcement of character education for the next generation in order to anticipate negative effects of globalization.
