        abstract = {This research aims to know the purpose of reading, reading patterns and reading
materials that are read by ustaz in boarding school Darul Falah "Amtsilati"
Bangsri. This research is a qualitative research with the case study approach. This
research uses descriptive qualitative method while data collection techniques uses
observation, interviews, and documentation. The results obtained in this study are
(1) the purposes of ustaz?s reading are to expand knowledge, teaching preparation,
and to train the brain so that it is not easy to forget. (2) the pattern of reading
include (a) a technique used, activities before reading: sorting out the relevant
information in accordance with its needs, by looking at the cover, title, table of
contents, preface, and its synopsis, ablution (depending on the reading material
that will be read), light adjus ment, praying. Activities when reading: reading
mutes (in the liver) and the voiceless, facing Qibla and facing according to the
wishes of the heart, using multiple sources to evaluate reading, crafting idea,
understanding outline format. they write down outline Format that have been
known on a little note, and give the bunches with a highlighter, the rest ranged
from 5 to 15 minutes with only silence in place and there is also a walk or move to
another place. Activities after reading: discuss it thoroughly, read back, concoct a
question, create summary of contents discourse, pray (b) time spent is at the time
of the evening after Ishaa ', leading up to and after the dawn, and spare times.
While the length of time between 1 to 2 hours. (3) reading material includes: the
work print or graphic works and works in electronic form and digital materials.}
