N2  - The purpose of this research was to know the financial performance of companies used financial ratio analysis and EVA concept, and to know how the comparison between the financial ratio analysis and EVA method as a measure of financial performance. The type of this research was descriptive with quantitative approach. The objects of this research were basic industrial and chemical companies listed in ISSI 2011-2014. The results of this research explained the results of the financial performance of companies measured by several fluctuations ratios. Meanwhile, the results of using the EVA method obtained positive results and increased every year, it mean that the company had created economic value added. The results of the comparison between two methods explained that were differences cause by the negligence of capital cost in financial ratio analysis, although EVA results could be used to support financial ratio analysis because both of them showed good results and similar concepts.
