So in facing the demands of society, a new phenomenon arises in the form of a modern market economy as supermall, supermarkets, wholesale and franchise center. Based Regulation No. 1 Year 2010 regarding Management and Protection of Traditional Market that with the development of retail trade in small and medium scale, retail trade of modern on a large scale, the traditional markets need to be empowered and protected in order to grow and develop in harmony, mutually reinforcing and win-win solution. One manifestation of the preservation of traditional markets and small traders in particular arrangement of Street Merchants, then built one of the market called Pasar Elpabes. Researcher examines how the economic impact on traders after their relocation and the revitalization of the market. The purpose of this research is to know how the economic impact of the relocation policy and the revitalization of the traders. The method used in this study is simple random sampling, and using paired t-test. The data are gained via interview. Results from this research is after a relocation and revitalization, the three variables are in declined. Surakarta municipal government?s policies in relocating street merchants and revitalize the region is able to provide better environment for the merchant, and the potential to create new job opportunities, but have not been able to provide a good economic impact for the Merchants. This research hopefully can contributed to municipal government for evaluation of the relocation and revitalization of the street merchants.} }
