These diseases are disease which are happened to pre-harvesting plants. Since there are some farmers do not have enough knowledge about the red onion diseases, therefor the farmers still rely on the plants druggist in searching the solution manually when the red onion plants get the diseases. The purpose of this expert system application is to help and to make things easier for the farmers in giving the information about the diseases which is happened to the red onion plants. The way of the appplication works are by entering the symptoms information which are happened to the plants into the web-based expert system application, thus the next treatments for the plants can be done faster and more precise. This expert system is using certainty factor method and searching method in inferece engine forward chaining. The system testing demonstrates that the system can present an accurate diagnosis for the red onion diseases based on the symptoms occurred. This research involves 15 respondents, consisted of farmers, students, and ordinary people, in order to do the trial system. For the interface and access system, the results are 45% strongly agree, 52,2% agree, 1,7% neutral, and 0,8% disagree. Meanwhile for the functional system,, 99% users say that the system has run well. When tested to two persons consisted of the knowledge engineers and the experts, 90% are strongly agree, and 10% are agree for the interface and access system, while for the functional system, they are 100% agree that the system works well but the rest 1% are not.
