Syihabudin Qalyubi, Lc., M. Ag. abstract: Arabic language is divided into two kinds, they are Arabic and colloquial Arabic. Arabic is the language used in the Qur‟an, formal conversation, composing poetry, writing prose and scientific. Arabic is applicable worldwide including Egypt. As for colloquial Arabic is non formal language that used daily by the Arab community. It is most known in colloquial Arabic is phonetic changes that are different from Arabic, but the change was also happening on the morphology, syntax and semantics. The book discussing the rules of colloquial arabic has not been much, thus making most people think that the change is only on the phonetic. There are at least two books containing colloquial Arabic rules that I found that is written by Abdul at-Tawab and Maurice Salib. This study aims to reveal the similarities and differences of colloquial Arabic rules written by the two linguists mentioned above. This research uses qualitative approach and using comparative method. Sources of data in this research takken from An-Nuzum Al-Lugawiyyah Fi Lahjah Abu Sir Wa „Alaqatuha Bil Fusha, by Abdul At-Tawab Mursy Hasan Al-Akrat dan Spoken Arabic of Cairo by Maurice B. Salib, while there are two kinds of data: Primary data in from of two books that have been mentioned before, and secondary data in the from of data obtained from dictionaries, books, Qur‟an, journals, magazines, media sites and so on. The results of the research can be summarized as follows: 1) In terms of phonetics found 38 changes in colloquial Arabic and 6 of them are the most frequently used. 2) In terms of morphology there are both changes in terms of inflection described by Maurice the Cross and in terms of the derivation described by Abdul at-Tawab. 3) In terms of syntax both maurice crosses and Abdul at-Tawab have the same opinion except in the use of letters that follow verbs as work will be done, if Maurice Cross holds only the letter ha’ [ػ] only as a sign, then Abdul at-Tawab argues Not only the letter ha‟ [ٱ ] only, but the letter ha’ [ػ] as well. 4) In terms of semantics, according to Maurice Salib question-making sentences can be made in two ways that is by adding question and by pressing the intonation of sound. In the discussion of the relation between the meanings of Maurice Salib emphasizes the synonyms and antonyms, while Abdul at-Tawab engages more than that such as hyponimi, homonimi and polisemi. date: 2017-05-24 date_type: published pages: 211 institution: UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA department: PROGRAM PASCASARJANA UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA thesis_type: masters thesis_name: other citation: UUN NASHIKHUN, NIM. 1520510083 (2017) KONSEP LINGUISTIK ARAB ‘AMIYAH MESIR (STUDI KOMPARATIF KAIDAH ABDUL AT-TAWAB MURSYI DAN MAURICE B.
