%X Information seeking behavior is present because the need of information,
including students. Information needs of each person is different so that the
information seeking behavior will also be different. Including choice of study
program on students either Nursing diploma or Bachelor of Nursing Science
cause different needs and information seeking behavior. Successful experience of
information seeking behavior experienced by students is also different. There are
three purpose of this thesis, namely: (1) knowing the success level of the
information seeking behavior of diploma of nursing students, (2) knowing the
success level of the information seeking behavior of bachelor degree of nursing
students, and (3) know the difference of success rate of information seeking
behavior at student of diploma of nursing and bachelor degree of nursing science
programs. This research uses information behavior model’s Wilson and
complemented by other theories. This research uses quantitative approach with
survey method. Data analysis is descriptive and comparative action. Work
methods using questionnaires, documentation, and interviews. Analysis of
descriptive data by using the grand mean equation of the two hypothesis test using
T test. The results showed: (1) the success level of the information seeking
behavior of diploma of nursing students in the high category that is 2,97, (2) the
success level of the information seeking behavior of bachelor degree of nursing
students in the high category that is 2.92, and (3) the result of hypothesis test
proved p-value 0.001 significance 0.05 which means Ho rejected and Ha
accepted, which means there is difference of level of success of information
seeking behavior between diploma of nursing students and bachelor degree of
nursing students. This research is expected to contribute to the study of the field of
information seeking behavior, and to contribute to the provision of appropriate
information resources in STIKES Bethesda Yakkum Yogyakarta.
