N2  - This study aims to find and describe in depth the extent of intellectual freedom in the Balai Layanan Perpustakaan Grhatama Pustaka (GTP) BPAD DIY. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. The research method used interview, observation, and documentation. The result of the research shows that Implementation of Intellectual Freedom in the Balai Layanan Perpustakaan Grhatama Pustaka has been implemented. Nevertheless, there are several factors impede with in, there has been no detailed and complete explanation of intellectual freedoms in the collection development policy, then financial factors and limited book publishing, socio-political conditions that censor by limiting access to certain information, not good communication between functional employees with structural employees and lack of understanding of librarians related to intellectual freedom.
