N2  - State Museum of Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta has 1.150 manuscripts that has been processed and has not yet been processed. The research aimed to know the process of javanese manuscript processing activity and problems that occur in the javanese manuscript processing at State Museum of Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta. Collection data technique by observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data display, and verification. Validity test of the data used credibility test by triangulation technique and membercheck. The result of this research is the processing of Javanese manuscript collection at State Museum of Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta covering registration, inventarisation, book keeping, classification, cataloging and physical completeness. The activity is carried out by officers of the codex and assisted by several outside experts who work together with the State Museum of Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta. Problems in the javanese manuscripts collection processing activity at the State Museum Sonobudoyo Yogyakarta are the lack of experts in the field of manuscript processing, there is no standard operating procedure activities more detailed as a reference or mentor in the process of processing activities, physical condition manuscript which is broken, manuscript officers turnover, and describing the manuscript collection takes a long time.
