(2) Raising problem solving skill pass through learning with metacognition strategy. This research is quasi experiment with nonequivalent control grup design. The variable of this research consist of dependent variable called metacognition strategy anda independent variable called problem solving skill. The subject of this research is all students on 11th natural science grade of State Islamic Senior High School 4 Bantul academic year 2016/2017, so used surfeited sampling technique. Science 1 on 11th grade class is being control class and Science 2 on 11th grade is being experiment class. The instrument used in this research is sheet of matter and sheet of observation. The sheet of matter is being used to collect the data of student’s problem solving skill, and the sheet of observation is being used to collect the data seconder of research about student’s activity when join the kinetic theory of gas learning with metacognition strategy. The data of problem solving skill analized with quantitative method by descriptive statistic. The result of research shows (1) There is effect of metacognition strategy toward student’s problem solving skill.
