The research used descriptive method which involved 178 students of SMA N 5 Yogyakarta. In conducting this study, the questionnaire is selected as tools to collect data. In particular, the sheet of questionnaire which consist of open-ended multiple choice items with 10 questions, data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis technique. This research provides information that: 1) percentage of misconception on rotational dynamics and the equilibrium of rigid body experienced by SMA N 5 Yogyakarta with the lowest is 15.73% in the static equilibrium and the highest percentage is 67.41% in the equilibrium rigid body. This research found 44 types of physics misconception on the material of rotational dynamics and equilibrium of rigid body 2) the students misconception of rotational dynamics and equilibrium of rigid body are more than 50%: the concept of equilibrium of rigid body (67.41%) such as the rigid body with opposite direction must have a torque to zero and the concept of equilibrium types (51.68%) such as the example concept of unstable, stable, and netral.
