abstract: This research aimed to determine effectiveness of play therapy for reducing stress hospitalization of preschool-aged children. Subjects of this research were four pediatric patients aged 3-6 years and have score of behavioral checklist hospitalization stress middle to high. Design of study which used was one group pre test-post test. Collecting data in this study was using a behavioral checklist hospitalization stress that prepared by researcher. The method of data analysis used statistical nonparametric for the Wilcoxon Signed- Rankto examine the differences among pre test, and primary post test score. Results of the analysis showed that Z score of the primary post test was -1.890a p=0.0295 (p0,05). While for value of mean rank pretest was 14.00, and mean rank posttest was 6.50. Therefore, it could be concluded that play therapy has an effective for reducing the stress hospitalization of preschool-aged children.
