abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of working capital on corporate profitability. The working capital variable used is cash conversion cycle, working capital turnover, debt to asset ratio, and fixed asset ratio. While the profitability of the company is measured by return on assets (ROA). This study was conducted on companies consistently registered in JII during 2012 - 2016 using linear regression analysis of panel data. The test used in this research is chow test, hausman test, and lagrange multiplier test. The results show that the random effect estimation model is the best model to use. Variable cash conversion cycle, working capital turnover, debt to asset ratio, and fixed asset ratio influence simultaneously to profitability. As partially cash conversion cycle has a significant negative effect on probability and debt to asset ratio has a significant positive effect on profitability. While the working capital turnover and fixed asset turnover ratio does not significantly affect the profitability of companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index year 2012-2016.
