"This research is focused on SD INTIS School Yogyakarta which has special attention\r\nin handling the students with special needs. There are three main focuses in this\r\nstudy. First, the way of school identifies children with special needs, especially\r\ndyslexia. Second, how the teacher handles those students. Third, what is the impact of\r\nteachers effort in guiding dyslexic children. This research is important because\r\ndealing with children with special needs cannot be done partially. It must be done\r\nstarting from the initial identification, the process to handle and to treat the students.\r\nThis research is qualitative, revealing in detail about the model of SD INTIS\r\ntreatment in dealing with dyslexic students. The object of this research is the role of\r\nteachers in dealing with dyslexic students. Meanwhile, the subjects of this research\r\nare the headmaster, the person in charge of inclusion, and the elementary school\r\nteacher of INTIS School Yogyakarta. To answer this problem the data was collected\r\nby observation, interview and documentation. Observation focused on teacher\r\nguidance in the learning process at the dyslexic students’ classroom. Interviews\r\nfocused on the treatment and development of dyslexic students. Documentation\r\nfocused on evidence supporting dyslexic students.\r\nThe results showed that (1) There are five stages of SD INTIS School Yogyakarta in\r\nidentifying dyslexic children. First, find out students difficulties in reading. Second,\r\nstudying children's learning difficulties before the examination. Third, help\r\nidentifying with the characteristics encountered by the teacher after undergoing the\r\nteaching and learning process in the classroom; Fourth, holding a meeting to discuss\r\nthe students’ situation with the headmaster, the person in charge of the inclusion and\r\nthe class teacher before the acceptance of the report card. Fifth, doing check with a\r\npsychologist (2) There are three teacher's efforts in guiding the dyslexic students,\r\nnamely: understanding the students’ condition, building students’ confidence, and\r\nconstantly practice reading. Teacher also uses spelling methods and drill methods\r\nthat affects the students. In addition, teachers also approach dyslexic students\r\npersonally so they have a place to tell all their anxieties. (3) by knowing the students’\r\ncondition, the teacher is able to provide guidance and approach according to the\r\nneeds of the student. Although do not use all the specific methods yet, the teacher's\r\napproach and methods give a good influence on literacy skills of dyslexic students.\r\nThe students had started to read smoothly, their writings is a little neat, and their\r\nabilities are improved by over the time. ( INDONESIA ) Penelitian ini difokuskan di SD INTIS School Yogyakarta yang mempunyai perhatian khusus dalam menangani anak berkebutuhan khusus. Ada tiga fokus utama dalam penelitian ini. Pertama adalah cara sekolah mengidentifikasi anak berkebutuhan khsusus, terutama disleksia. Kedua, bagaimana cara guru membimbing\r\nanak tersebut. Ketiga, apa dampak upaya guru dalam membimbing anak disleksia.\r\nPenelitian ini penting karena menangani anak berkebutuhan khusus tidak bisa\r\ndilakukan secara parsial. Harus dilakukan mulai dari identifikasi awal, proses untuk\r\nmenangani anak dan treatment berikutnya.\r\nPenelitian ini bersifat kualitatif, mengungkap secara detail tentang model perlakuan\r\nSD INTIS dalam menangani anak berkebutuhan khusus disleksia. Objek riset ini\r\nadalah bagaimana peran guru dalam menangani anak disleksia. Subjeknya adalah\r\nkepala sekolah, penanggung jawab inklusi, dan guru SD INTIS School Yogyakarta.\r\nUntuk menjawab persoalan ini data dikumpulkan dengan cara observasi, wawancara\r\ndan dokumentasi. Observasi difokuskan pada bimbingan guru dalam proses belajar di\r\nkelas anak disleksia. Wawancara difokuskan pada perlakuan dan perkembangan\r\nterkait anak disleksia dan dokumentasi fokus pada bukti pendukung anak disleksia.\r\nHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Ada lima tahapan SD INTIS School\r\nYogyakarta dalam mengidentifikasi anak disleksia, yaitu pertama, menemukan\r\nkesulitan belajar membaca pada anak. Kedua, mempelajari kesulitan belajar anak\r\nsebelum dilakukan pemeriksaan . Ketiga, membantu identifikasi dengan ciri-ciri yang\r\nditemui guru setelah menjalani proses belajar mengajar di kelas, Keempat,\r\nmengadakan rapat untuk membicarakan keadaan anak bersama kepala sekolah,\r\npenanggung jawab inklusi dan guru kelas, sebelum penerimaan rapor. Kelima,\r\nmelakukan pemeriksaan dengan bantuan psikolog. (2) Upaya yang dilakukan guru\r\nuntuk membimbing anak disleksia yaitu dengan memahami keadaan anak,\r\nmembangun rasa percaya diri anak, dan dengan terus-menerus berlatih membaca.\r\nGuru juga menggunakan metode eja dan metode drill (latihan) yang juga berpengaruh\r\nuntuk anak. Selain itu, guru juga melakukan pendekatan secara personal sehingga\r\nanak disleksia merasa punya tempat untuk menceritakan semua kegelisahannya. (3)\r\nDengan guru memahami keadaan anak guru mampu memberikan bimbingan dan\r\npendekatan sesuai kebutuhan anak. Walaupun belum menggunakan semua metode\r\nkhusus untuk anak disleksia, pendekatan dan metode yang dilakukan guru memiliki\r\npengaruh baik terhadap kemampuan baca-tulis anak.
