abstract: The success of a student when she graduated from Islamic Boarding School was not measured only by her achievement in religion discipline or other disciplines, but also measured by her unconscious behavior that organized by applied rules. The outcome behavior by applying rules was expected to be a positive one, because the rules were applied to make the students to have a good attitude, therefore obedience become one of the most important thing to achieve the best result. The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between character strength and obedience to rules in students of islamic boarding school. The subject of this research were 87 female student’s in IBQ islamic boarding school Yogyakarta. This research used purposive sampling technique. The data in this study used obedient scale and character strength scale. This research data was analyzed with product moment correlation technique. The result indicated that there was a significant positive correlation between the strenght of chatacter with student's obedience towards regulation in islamic boarding school. The significant correlation was indicated by coefficient value
