This uniqueness brings a wisdom for L1donesians to live in harmony with nature. So far, researchin the field of traditional knowledge and local wisdom and has been very limited. Similarly, the use of the knowledge for developing learning materials in teaching Biology has not been explored widely. This traditional knowledge is an important cultural heritage for managing biological resource~ at the level of flora, fauna and ecosystem. The society's local wisdom is sometimes proven more valuable than what-socalled scientific knowledge. Interdisciplinary research approach is very important in enthnobiology for exploring the potential of natural resources in a detailed study, including the study of ecological, chemica1 and physical aspect of the object. Hence, a new paradigm in biological research and teaching is need~ to help conserving Indonesia's natural resources. This kind of research can benefit the academic society in their efforts for explori11g and publishing Biological knowledge based on local wisdam. This also leads to many published articles in the national and international plat forms, enriching the study of Biology based on local wisdom, with a main goal is to make sure that the future generation of Indonesia could filter the influence of foreign cultures, and could conserve biological diversity sustainability, and develop awareness of the beauty and richness oflndonesa.
