        abstract = {Nowadays, library paradigm has been changed and developed. In the past, library was a place where it was attended by the society to access all of its facilities. However, library today tries to attend the society themselves. It means that library supposes to be able to fulfill their need by coming into areas which are away from the library building. Hence, one of the ways to reach the idea is by Puspita Motor Mobile Library. Puspita has been run long ago in Yogyakarta City. It is really helpful for those who stay away from the library. Puspita?s existence is also useful to know the society involvement in the development of reading interest, which then becomes the discussion of this research.
This research discusses about the role of Puspita Service in the Development of Yogyakarta Society Reading Interest. It aims to know the operation of Yogyakarta Library Puspita Service, and to know the change of the society after it?s existance. The subjects of this research are 7 Yogayakarta City public figures, 6 children, and 3 librarians of Yogyakarta Library. Furthermore, the object of this research is the Puspita Motor Mobile Library. Besides, it also uses observation, interview, and documentation methods. The result of this research is to know the difference between the current Puspita Motor Mobile Library and the previous mobile library; to describe Yogyakarta society reading interest for those who are attended by Puspita Motor Mobile Library service; and to know the role dimension caused by Puspita service such as policy, strategic, and communication role. Puspita Motor Mobile Library service is one of government?s efforts in the development of society reading interest. Thus, this service contributes to the more acknowledgeable and wide insight society, also it beneficial to increase children reading interest.}
