(2) To know the level of work motivation of staff of Yogyakarta State University Library. (2) To know the level of burnout tendency of staff of Yogyakarta State University Library. (3) To know the influence of role ambiguity on the burnout tendency of staff of Yogyakarta State University Library. (4) To know the influence of work motivation on burnout tendency of staff of Yogyakarta State University Library. (6) To know the influence of role ambiguity and work motivation on burnout tendency of staff of Yogyakarta State University Library. This research has two independent variables, they are role ambiguity and work motivation, and one dependent variable, it is burnout tendency. This research is a quantitative research conducted on 51 respondents. This research was conducted on all staff of Yogyakarta State University Library, or it is also called population research. The data collection technique is done through questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this research are: (1) Role ambiguity variable has an average of 3.27 so that it can be said that the library staff of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta have very low ambiguity role level. (2) Job motivation variable has an average value of 3.06 so it is concluded that the staff of State University of Yogyakarta Library has a high level of work motivation. (3) Burnout tendency variable has an average value of 3.31, and it can be concluded that the staff of Yogyakarta State University has a very low burnout tendency level. (4) The influence of role ambiguity on burnout tendency of staff of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Library is shown by determination coefficient value of 27.8% and the correlation coefficient value of 0.527, indicating a positive and a weak influence between role ambiguity variable on burnout tendency. (5) The influence of work motivation on the tendency of burnout of staff of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Library is shown by determination coefficient value of 29.9% and correlation coefficient value of 0.547, indicating a positive and a weak influence between work motivation variable on burnout tendency. (6) The influence of role ambiguity and work motivation on the burnout tendency of staff of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Library is shown by coefficient of determination of 34.9% and the correlation coefficient of 0,591, indicating a positive and a weak influence between the role ambiguity variable on burnout tendencies.
