Used coconut shell which is a natural material because Indonesia is the third largest coconut producer after Philippines and India according to Central Bureau of Statistics. The aim of this research is to study the process of CNT synthesis using CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) method with variation of pyrolysis time of 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours and to know the result of CNT characterization formed from variation of pyrolysis time . Synthesis of CNT is done by reacting coconut shell activated coconut, ferrocene (Fe (C5H5) 2) as catalyst and benzene as carbon source with gas argon (Ar). Purification CNT using a solution of nitric acid (HNO3) 65%. Result of characterization of XRD and SEM pyrolysis time variation showed 2 hours result 2 hours = 23,29 ° and particle size 238,09 nm, when 4 hours got 2θ = 23,55 ° and particle size 52,91 nm, when 6 hour got 2θ = 23.49 ° and particle size 190.77 nm.
