The research uses a pragmatic approach and the focus of research is nook banning in the novel Perpustakaan Kelamin. This type of research is the library research. The methods of data collection uses reading, recording, and documentation. The main data source in this research is the form of text contained in the novel Perpustakaan Kelamin. Complementary data sources in this research are the results of research or works related to research. The method of analyzing data is text analysis. The results of this research is: (1) Book banning is done by people who have education and brilliant thinking in ideology. The attempt to defend the ideology normally is used to form or maintain a power. So, the book banning is done to remove other ideologies, especially the opposing ideology. The destruction of a book is largely is caused by fanatics of what is right and belive by them. A small potion is caused by natural factors (insects, natural disasters, and the material of the book itself that can be decomposed by time). The act of banning a book not only destroys the book physically, but also deletes the thought and history of the past. (2) The models of book banning are an activity carried out in the book banning, such as the censorship, seizure, burning, and washed away. (3) The motives of book banning are a factor behind the occurrence of the banning of books, such as religious sentiments, politics, ideology, and warfare. (4) The implications of book banning are the impact that will occur to authors, publishers, distributors, bookstores, and readers, such as are jailed, tortured, exiled, and distitution. %Z Dra.
