abstract: This study aims to find out how the management of photo collection at Vredeburg
Museum Yogyakarta and the constraints that appear in the management of photo
collection activities. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative.
The data were collected using observation, interview and documentation method.
To obtain valid data, data analysis using Miles and Huberman model through
three stages is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Test data validity
using triangulation technique and membercheck. The result of this research are (1)
management of photo collection consist of: procurement; photo collection
obtained through grant, processing; registration, inventory and input data in
computer, service; borrow collection and presentation of exhibition rooms, and
maintenance, preventive and curative measures. (2) the constraints that arise in the
management of photo collection is the lack of network in the procurement of
photo collection, for the collection of photos obtained through the grant, but also
in the processing not all collections processed in the computer system will have
difficulty if this search data from the collection you want to use.
