The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative method. Data collecting methods was done using interviews, observation, and documentation. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling. Data analysis technique used in this research was data analysis Miles and Huberman model, which was data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the research showed that the use of Instagram as a media promotional activities at Balai Layanan Perpustakaan Grhatama Pustaka Yogyakarta it is stated to be feasible to run based on market and marketing aspects, technical and technological aspects, management aspects, legal aspects, economic and social aspects and financial aspects and the obstacle in promoting the library activities by using social media Instagram is there is not yet innovation in the making of the content so it is still monotonous in create information requires knowledge so that it needs to filter the content or information that is considered important.
