        abstract = {This research aims to analyze the actions of the characters that contain the alienation and class struggle in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs film. In this film, alienation occurs because of the oppression done by the upper class, and class struggle is one of the ways to overcome the alienation. This research applies qualitative method to describe the alienation and class struggle in this film by using two theories proposed by Marxists. Alienation and class struggle theory by Karl Marx become the main theory, and film theory by Amy Villarejo is taken as the supporting theory to identify the findings in this research. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the society of Swallows Fall island is alienated because of the mayor?s oppression, and Flint, the main character, strives for the economical and ideological class struggle to overcome the alienation toward Swallows Fall society.}
