N2  - Taruna Siaga Bencana (Tagana) are trained social volunteers or Social
Welfare Personnel from communities who are caring and active in disaster
management. Tagana has a duty before a disaster occurs, namely disaster risk
reduction which aims to minimize the occurrence of casualties and property
losses. One example of activities established for disaster risk reduction is the
Tagana Goes to School (TGTS) program which is conducted in public and special
schools such as special schools. Not all Tagana members have the special ability
to teach. Whereas they are required to be able to teach general students and also
students with special needs about disaster risk reduction.
The research method used by the researcher is descriptive qualitative
method with the intention of interpreting the phenomena that occur and is done by
involving various existing methods. This type of research aims to make a
systematic, factual and accurate description of the facts and characteristics of a
particular population or object. This research describes the reality that is
happening without explaining the relationship between variables.
As a result, communication that was built between Tagana and SLB
students was quite effective. Students are able to receive messages well enough,
follow up on the message voluntarily and without coercion, and have a closer
relationship between the TGTS team and students.
It says communication when it has passed several processes, including the
desire to communicate, some send and receive messages, and the feedback from
the recipient to the sender of the message. Interpersonal communication has the
characteristics of two-way message flow, non-formal atmosphere, immediate
feedback, and communication participants are at close range. This communication
can be said to be effective if the same understanding of the meaning of the
message, carrying out messages voluntarily and improving the quality of
interpersonal relationships.
