abstract: Religion knowledge is one part of the knowledge that is consucted by the
umma (religious people). Religion knowledge is obtained from education and
teaching process also from media. There are various kinds of media that is used as
a tool to gain the knowledge. Convensional mass media and sommunity mass
media could be knowledge sources for many people. One of boarding school in
Cirebon city uses community mass media as new knowledge information source
for their students. The name of that community radio is BEST FM. BEST FM is a
community radio that owned by Pondok Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. BEST FM
community radio is operating according to his function as general community
radio. Religion knowledge be the prime thing that is announced by BEST FM.
This research is a quantitative research that looking for the i nfluence of
BEST FM community radio towards religion knowledge. The indications of this
research are media using for X variable and degree o religion knowledge for Y
variable. Both of variables computed with SPSS application. The result of this
research is refer taht BEST FM radio community influences the religion
knowledge of Buntet Pesantren students. The correlation in medium degree, it is
indicated by the number result of correlation computed with SPSS application
0,429.
