"Increased moral problems indicate a decrease in the independent character\r\nof children. Many parents actually inhibit the development of independent\r\nchildren's character. Street children are a form of child social function deviations\r\nas a result of the decline in children's morality. Madrasah and halfway house as\r\ninstitutions that protect children's rights recognize the importance of independent\r\ncharacter education from an early age. This study discusses how independent\r\ncharacter education and how similarities and differences in independence of MI\r\nBaiquniyyah students and foster child by RSBD.\r\nThis type of research is qualitative research with the object of independent\r\ncharacter education research as well as similarities and differences in children's\r\nindependence in MI Baiquniyyah and RSBD. Data collection techniques through\r\nobservation, interviews and documentation. While the validity of the data was\r\ntested through triangulation of techniques and sources. The data analysis\r\ntechnique with data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.\r\nThe results showed that: First independent character education: (1) MI\r\nBaiquniyyah students through: Habit of managing the distribution of snacks and\r\nlunch; Habit of taking care of prayer needs; Independence education in the\r\nlearning process; Reward and Punishment as a control of independence; Happy\r\nSaturday as a form of independent character development; PPA Baiquniyyah\r\nsantri routines. (2) Foster child by RSBD through: Training/Extension of\r\nindependence; Counseling as an independent control; Do natural activities;\r\nEroding the social stigma against anjal; Restore family functions; Restore the\r\ndaily routine of anjal; RSBD inspires through songkok and sablon efforts. Both\r\nsimilarities and differences in independence of MI Baiquniyyah students and\r\nfoster child by RSBD (1) Emotional independence of low-class non-islamic\r\nboarding school and foster child type children on the street still depends on\r\nparents, while upper-class students and foster child type children of the street\r\nemotional independence are good; (2) The intellectual independence of students in\r\ngrades 1 and 2 and foster child type children of the street is still low, while\r\nstudents in grades 1 and 2 of non-islamic boarding school, grade 3-5 students and\r\nfoster child type children of the street are good; (3) Students of MI Baiquniyyah\r\ndo not have economic independence, while foster child type children on the street\r\nhave economic activities to help their families, foster child type children of the\r\nstreet for their own needs; (4) The social independence of MI Baiquniyyah\r\nstudents and children on the street shows good interaction, while children of the\r\nstreet rated naughty, after receiving assistance at RSBD shows positive changes."^^ .
