%X The background that makes this study interesting is that students do not really understand about the existence of a species, differences and relationships, for example the breeding of two different animals namely laying eggs and not laying eggs, the lack of attention and awareness of students about maintaining and maintaining environmental sustainability so that the teacher has an important role in developing students' naturalist intelligence.
The research in this thesis aims to describe in general the role of the teacher in developing naturalist intelligence of students at SDIT Lukman Al Hakim, presenting an overview of the implementation of the development of naturalist intelligence, as well as the implications of the development of naturalist intelligence on the science of fifth grade students in SDIT Lukman Al Hakim Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative research methods directed at field research. The type of data used is the data obtained from observation, data collection in the field, interviews and documentation.
From the research analysis, it can be concluded that: First, the teacher provides opportunities for students to get inspiration, ideas and observations directly about nature, the environment around them, the teacher builds awareness of students to make nature as a space and media of learning, teachers educate and train students not to damage the environment, the teacher gives a good example to love and love various types of animals, the teacher educates and develops students' abilities to utilize the creation of Allah SWT. Second, in the impelmentation of the development of naturalist intelligence in grade V students at SDIT Lukman Al, the teacher judge applied the method of visit, the question and answer method, the story method, learning while playing and giving motivation, the demonstration method, learning with pictures and video media, group work. Third, the steps taken by science teachers in the development of naturalist intelligence have implications for science knowledge based on the learning process carried out in schools namely students' knowledge of ecosystems, water cycles, animals and plants, environmental sustainability, natural events, and healthy food.
