The problems in this study are: why do schools implement full day school learning, how is the actualization of character education strengthening through full day school learning and what are the school's strategic efforts in improving character education strengthening programs through full day school. This research was conducted to determine the strengthening of character education through full day school learning as a solution to the problem of character education in schools. This research is a field research, using a qualitative approach, taking the background of SDIT Luqman Al Hakim Yogyakarta. Data collection is done by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. To test the validity of the data the author triangulated the data. Data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are: 1) The implementation of full day school learning at SDIT Luqman Al Hakim Yogyakarta is motivated by a sense of responsibility for the school to practice directly the material that has been taught to students, and the application of integrated curriculum that contains more subject matter so that it takes time longer. 2) Actualization of strengthening character education is carried out with an individual, family, school-based and community-based approach in a unified and interrelated whole. 3) The school's strategic efforts in improving the character education reinforcement program through full day school are making character education part of the curriculum, fulfilling adequate facilities and infrastructure, uniting the vision of human resources, and active involvement of parents of students.} }
