This research is a descriptive study involving 106 students from four high schools in Cilacap Regency. The four schools were selected using the stratified sampling technique. Data collection in this study uses diagnostic tests. The instrument used is a diagnostic test sheet in the form of multiple choice questions with open reasons and accompanied by seven items of modified certainty of response index (CRI). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the seven items used have a high and medium level of validation. This study provides information that (1) misconceptions on parabolic motion material experienced by high school students in Cilacap Regency with a percentage of 44.47%. The biggest misconception experienced by students is on the concept of the trajectory, when a bomb dropped by an airplane moving above the earth's surface (wind speed, humidity and air frictional force is ignored), the path formed is vertically straight down because it follows the gravity of the earth. %Z Joko Purwanto, M.Sc,
