        abstract = {The aims of this research was (1) to know the strategy of library promotion
through the Reader of The Month program at the Library of SMKN 1 Yogyakarta;
(2) find out what are the factors that influence the success and failure of the Reader
of the Month program at the Library of SMKN 1 Yogyakarta; (3) find out the
assessment of library officers on library promotion strategies through the Reader of
The Month program that has been run at the Library of SMKN 1 Yogyakarta. The
research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative method. Data
collecting methods was done using interviews, observation, and documentation. In
this qualitative research the researcher uses the validity test of the data with four
criteria used in the implementation of the examination technique, namely
credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the
research showed that the application of the Reader of The Month program is to find
one user who mostly borrows within one month. The winner of the program will be
given a reward in the form of book and pin. In the implementation of this program
there are factors that influence the success and failure, namely in terms of its
success, the library socializes when the flag ceremony can be witnessed directly by
all school members. While in terms of failure, namely the problem of time and
funding used for purchasing rewards. Furthermore, the assessment of the officers
on this program, which has been going well, there are only a few obstacles faced,
but the library is always trying to overcome them.}
