"Research on the traffic sign recognition begin recently in line\r\nwith the growing popularity of intelligent vehicle systems. Traffic\r\nsign recognition has its own challenges which include\r\npre-processing, feature extraction, also detection and\r\nclassification processes. In addition, the condition of signs when\r\nimages are taken such as lighting conditions and image clarity can\r\nalso affect the classification process. The purpose of conducting\r\nthis research is to support the system of smart driver and car\r\nassistants.\r\nThis research aims to analyze the process of introducing\r\ntraffic signs using the Principal Component Analysis algorithm\r\nand Histogram of Oriented Gradient as feature extraction. Other\r\nparameters in the introduction process are also used, such as\r\npre-processing and classification using artificial neural networks.The testing scenario includes three pre-processing parameters\r\nincluding: first parameter - Median Blur, Grayscale, Histogram\r\nEqualization, Binary, and Canny; second parameter - Graysale,\r\nHistogram Equalization, Binary, and Canny; and the third\r\nparameter is using no pre-processing. Whereas, for neural\r\nnetwork structure using four hidden layer parameters: 10, 50, 100,\r\nand 150.\r\nThe training process is carried out by combining\r\npredetermined scenarios. The training results are grouped into two\r\nmajor parts based on feature extraction. The Histogram of\r\nOriented Gradient Algorithm has a high accuracy compared to the\r\nPrincipal Component Analysis algorithm with a maximum\r\naccuracy of 100%. While the Principal Component Analysis\r\nalgorithm has a maximum accuracy of 79.38%. In the testing\r\nprocess, the Histogram of Oriented Gradient algorithm has an\r\naccuracy of 80.84%, while the Principal Component Analysis\r\nalgorithm only has the highest accuracy of 23.79%."^^ .
