N2  - This study tend to determine the frame presented by online media, which is
Hidayatullah.com and Tempo.co. The news is about the incident experienced by
one of the 2018 Asian Para Games athlete who was disqualified for refusing to
release the hijab when competing in the Judo Match. The athlete was named
Miftahul Jannah who used her hijab during the Asian games competition held in
Indonesia precisely in Jakarta. Last October 2018 when the judo match starts, she
suddenly gets disqualified by the judo referee by reason of wearing a hijab when
competing. Though as long as he participates in the championship anywhere he
can still use his hijab and even win various international judo championships.
This study is titled ?Prohibition news on the use of Hijab in the Judo Match
at the 2018 Asian Para Games (Robert N Entman?s Framing Analysis on
Hidayatullah.com and Tempo.co periods of October 8 - 10, 2018). This study used
a qualitative descriptive research, while the methods of analysis used the framing
analysis model Robert N Entman. The data obtained by observation and
documentation during that time period.
The result conclude that Hidayatullah.com frames the prohibition on the use
of hijab as a matter of religion and principle. Hidayatullah.com highlights the
cause of the ban on the use of hijab in the judo match. The causal factor that is
highlighted is referring to the opinions of the ranks of government in their
perspective that fully appreciates Miftahul Jannah decision to maintain the hijab.
While tempo.co framed the news on the prohibition on using this hijab as a
national, news rubric. Tempo.co highlighted the news on the prohibition on the
use of hijab as a regulation of related parties that must be obeyed. Nevertheless
tempo.co also provides space for the disqualified to submit their reasons on
principle that make her disqualified.
