abstract: This study aimed to describe and analyze information seeking behavior using OPAC, IR, and Journal Database at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library. The type of this research was qualitative-descriptive. The technique of determining informants used purposive technique and taken 4 deaf students who met the criteria requirements as informants. The method for collecting data in this study was observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of data used in this study, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Informants searching for information were based on information needs including fulfillment of lecture assignments, preparation of theses, and increasing knowledge about certain sciences. The results showed that deaf student information seeking behavior was similar to David Ellis's search behavior model. The behavior of informants in searching for information using OPAC and IR started with starting, chaining, browsing, differentiating, extracting, verifying, and ending. The behavior of informants in searching for information using the Journal Database started from starting, chaining, browsing, to differentiating. During the search process, informants did not carry out monitoring activities. Informants typed in general keywords and using the simple search menu. Selection of collections in OPAC, IR, and Journal Database based on the title and subject of the collection. Informants evaluated a search result by recording an explanation that matches the information needs sought. Informants often used OPAC to search for printed collections, IR for soft file theses. Meanwhile, the weakness informants to understand English-language texts so that information retrieval using a Journal Database was rarely used.
