abstract: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the responsibility of the company for
the development and empowerment of the community both in terms of the economy,
social and environment to improve the welfare of the community.The form of the
responsibility carried out by the company must provide great benefits. For example, the
Kampoeng BNI CSR program,which formed by PT BNI, gives benefits in the
development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Karangtengah
Village, Imogiri Yogyakarta.
Through fostering CSR for the development of MSMEs which has become one of
the strategic choices of many developing countries in order to strengthen and enhance
the competitiveness of MSMEs.It has been recognized that large companies will not
grow well without the support of MSMEs. Therefore, MSMEs and large companies must
always cooperate with each other to take advantage of opportunities for the growth and
prosperity of the community.
Various empowerment activities are carried out through Kampoeng BNI CSR to
develop MSMEs, such as socialization, holding MSME exhibitions and giving thrift.
People who are doing MSME also get entrepreneurship training, such as packaging
training. They also take part in exhibitions to increase sales. Now, they can produce
various types of products,such as kokon crafts, natural colouringbatik, silk crafts, keris
crafts, wood crafts and another various type of food such as bakpia, banana chips,
dumplings, tempe chips, peyek, jamu, etc.
The intention of this research is to find out how effective Kampoeng BNI
Corporate Social Responsibility program in developing MSMEs.The method of this
research is done by quantitative surveys, such as secondary data collection by
distributing questionnaires with total of 55 respondents. Then,it is analyzed by using
simple tabulations so that the results reached 3.98 which included in the effective
category. Thus, Kampoeng BNI Corporate Social Responsibility program is effective in
developing MSMEs in Karangtengah Village, Imogiri, Yogyakarta.
