Therefore, hoax, hate speech and provocative news are easily spread on Facebook. Facebook users need to protect themselves with special skills such as ability of digital literacy competencies. This research discussed about digital literacy competencies of Facebook users, especially Communication Science student at Yogyakarta State University. The research method is descriptive qualitative with data collection, interviews and documentation. Paul Gilster's analytical theory of Digital Literacy Competence with purposive sampling techniques. The results of this research revealed that not all of Communication Science students at Yogyakarta State University who became an informant in the research have literacy digital competencies based on four digital literacy competencies elements. Such as Internet searching, hypertextual navigation, content evaluation and knowledge assembly.
