%A - SABARUDIN %J KEPENDIDIKAN ISLAM %T PERAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA DALAM MEWUJUDKAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL YANG KONDUSIF ANTAR SISWA BEDA AGAMA DI SMAN 3 YOGYAKARTA %X This qualitative research discusses three issues: (a) forms of sosial interaction among students with different religion; (b) religious strengthening resulted from that interaction; (c) attempts of school (head of school and teachers) to create a conducive sosial interaction among students with different religion at SMAN 3 Yogyakarta. The author employs three qualitative research methods to collect the data, namely obseruation, interview, and documentation study. The results of this research are: (1) t.here are three forms of sosial interaction among students at the school: cooperation, competition, and conflict. The author argues that forms of cooperation and competition are more apparent than conflict; (2) Interaction among students with different religion gives impact on religious streng thening, either in the domain of cognitive, affective, or psychomotor; (3) Various attempts have been taken by the school to create a conducive sosial interaction among students with different religion, namely (a) insisting on the importance of religious harmony and unity; (b) supporting religious activity at the school, without mixing religious doctrines one another; (c) inviting public figures, either from executive or legislative, to discuss with students; (d) making religious activity available everyday; (e) selecting religious preachers who come to school;(j) helping students to hold religious activity; (g) creating harmony among religious teachers; (h) selecting and choosing teaching materials and model of learning that support for growing consciousness about harmony and unity.
