N2  - Today, Religious Education in Indonesia has a challenge in producing qualified graduates Islamic Scholar to full filled the needs of the community. This problem becomes important because the number of scholars who are experts are not in proportion to the demands of society. So it needs special treatment to produce scholars, namely by creating a special institution for ulama cadres, namely ma'had aly. Ma?had Aly also was special handled, it was used strategy management. This study aims to 1) Describe the objective conditions of the preparation of the Ulama cadre strategy in Ma'had Aly Sukorejo. 2) Knowing the implementation of Ma'had Aly Sekorejo's scholarship strategist. 3) Understand the evaluation of the Ulama cadet strategy for the development of ma'had aly Sukorejo. This study uses a qualitative approach and data collection is done by in-depth interview, observation and documentation techniques. Analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data is done by source triangulation and data triangulation
The results of this study show that: First, a strategy for preparing a strategy uses a SWOT approach aimed at evaluating ma'had aly, assessing stakeholder expectations, getting information on current conditions. second, strategy implementation strategy used by short and long-term strategy. The short scale is focused on mahasantri processing to become qualified graduates. While long-term strategy is positioning ma'had aly / institutional strengthening so there is a policy that able to sail ma'had aly at national level. Thirdly, the evaluation of the strategy that took place on ma'had aly covers the evaluation of the program that has been implemented and has not been implemented. Evaluation is held twice a year. The implication is that there is an improvement in the quality of graduates (products).
