description: This research studies Markaz Al-Malik Abdullah Ibn ‘Abdul ‘Aziz Ad-Dawli Li Khidmatil  Lugah Al-‘Arabiyyah, an institution aiming at preserving Arabic language and based in  Riyadh Saudi Arabia, regarding the issue on globalization and linguistic safety as discussed  by sociolinguists. The research try to see how this institution responds the situation such as  dualistic languange (diglossia) occuring in Saudi Arabia society and bilingualism between  Arabic and English language with the latter dominates the daily communication in teh  society. Through interviews with Ahmad Fuad Effendy and studiying the several book  published by al-Markaz, the researcher find that the attempts to preserve Arabic language  are in line withe the message of Declaration on Linguistic Rights held in Barcelona, but at  the same time every state in the world where Arabic language is used or studied and  becoming part of the daily life such as in the case of muslim people offers some threats  which is not always easy to treat them and in doing so al-Markaz will probabily tends to win  the Arabic language whenever a contestation happened between Arabic language and other  (local) language.
